Nnamdi Azikiwe Campaigns In Uruala

Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe at the N.C.N.C political rally, Urualla, 1959. In preparation for the independence of Nigeria, in 1960,three main parties ran in the important Election. The N.C.N.C was led by Azikiwe, The N.P.C was led by Ahmadu Bello while the Action Group was led by Chief Awolowo. After the Election, no party won the majority, the N.C.N.C. and the N.P.C joined to form a government, when independence came in 1960, Abubakar Balewa was made the Prime Minister while Nnamdi Azikiwe was appointed as the Governor General.

Philip Effiong, a general of the Biafran Armed Forces looks on as the General Officer Commanding the 3 Commando Division of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Olusegun Obasanjo, initials a paper of Biafran Surrender in the Field on the 13th of January, 1970, after Effiong’s broadcast of the ‘Biafran Surrender’ on 12 January, 1970. The leader of the rebellion, Odumegwu Ojukwu fled Nigeria for Abidjan, Ivory Coast leaving Effiong to do the surrendering and ultimate capitulation of Biafra to the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In 1979, palace of Ooni of Ife ,The visit of Omo n'oba ni Edo Erediauwa to the palace of Ile-Ife to see the Ooni of Ife, Adesoji Aderemi, on his ascension to the throne of Benin.The following year 1980 Ooni Aderemi joined his ancestors. Baba was pleased enough with Omo'n'ba to swap his black leather seat with him. Baba had seen three Benin Obas before he joined his ancestors. rs.
